Did a 10 minute phone screening where they basically just ask you the same standard questions as on the application you already filled out. Was surprised the recruiter was located in Argentina (position was in California). They couldn’t tell me much of anything about the actual job or a clear timeline. Didn’t hear back for a few weeks and then suddenly they requested a face to face interview with hardly 24 hour notice, I’d have to re-arrange several meetings and my whole day. The email was very sloppy, misspelled my name, did not specify exactly where, the address was wrong, took hours to get a response back. It was around 100 miles roundtrip commute for me, based on having zero information about the job and them still working the antiquated in-office at least 3 days a week, I declined. They need to modernize if they want top talent - allow remote-first work schedules and at least do one video call with the hiring manager before asking people to commute in on short notice for a first interview. Odd recruiting practices for this day and age.
