A CO recruiter reached out to me about an open role. We scheduled the initial call and then when I was on it I got a note 4 minutes after it was scheduled to begin that they were running late and wanted to reschedule. Totally fine - it happens. I replied immediately with some availablity but didn't hear back for a few days.
Got it rescheduled and this time it went ahead as planned. Very standard first round stuff to explain my career history/hear more about the role. I had done a bit of research on the company but unfortunately didn't have as much opportunity to show that in the flow of the conversation (I felt more talked at for bits of it) but it was still generally good and was told they'd want to schedule a call with the next person in the process.
I sent a follow up a few hours after the call with a standard thank you and confirmation of the next steps we discussed. I didn't hear back so I followed up again with the week - but still heard nothing. Followed up a third time one week later, but still nothing back so I wrote it off.
It's a shame because the company does really good work but this was a very poor experience and the only one time I've ever encountered something like it. If someone's not right for the role, you can just let them know.
