Interview
My interaction with the recruitment process at CZI left me disappointed, especially considering what CZI preaches about social change. Despite being inspired by CZI's mission, the experience was marred by poor communication and ultimately ended in ghosting.
The process began with a screening call with the recruiter, followed by a call with the hiring manager, who joined late, leaving me no time for questions. These two phases took four weeks. By the time I had my call with the hiring manager, I had received an offer from another company, which I promptly notified the recruiter about. Unfortunately, she never responded, so I naturally accepted the other offer.
While I understand that recruitment processes can be complex, ghosting candidates reflects poorly not only on the recruiters but also on the organization as a whole. It's essential for companies, especially those with noble missions like CZI, to uphold transparency and respect throughout the hiring journey.
I share this feedback to encourage CZI and other organizations to prioritize respectful and transparent communication with candidates. It's crucial for maintaining a positive employer brand and fostering trust with potential hires.
Despite this disappointing experience, I'm grateful to have received another job offer and look forward to making a positive impact in my new role.

Interview
1 x 30 minute call with teammate for initial screen
3 x 30 minute calls with various department leaders in different areas
1 x 30 min call with hiring manager
About half of each call was discussing what those individuals do in the org, the other half questions of me.

Interview
CZI has done a great job adapting the interview process to the quarantine. Every meeting was an online meeting; all went smoothly. The recruiters and hiring experience associates all worked with me to find suitable times to meet with staff, and were very flexible. All the people with whom I spoke made the interviews very casual, yet they were well informed of my background.
