I applied online then interviewed with two female managers from a neighboring county. In a couple of weeks I was contacted via email to ask if I could attend a second phone interview. The second interview took place with the original two managers and their supervisor. Ten days after the second interview, I was contacted by the original managers. They asked if I was still interested in the position and I indicated that I was. The two women began a hurried conversation about where I could take a physical. After almost 5 minutes of them calling out sites, I stopped the conversation to ask if they were going to tell me the salary being offered and provide a job description. There was a big sigh, and a figure was quoted. I was then told that a job description would be provided on the first day of work. I indicated that I would want to see one sooner since this was a newly created position. For the next three days I played phone tag with one of these managers and tried to explain why I felt a job description was important. I received a voice message stating that one would be sent with my welcome packet and I was asked to call back about my phone preference and ssn. On the 3rd day after the initial call, Human Resources contacted me to say that the manager was uncomfortable moving forward with me because I wanted the job description and I only cared about the phone. Truly unprofessional woman interviewer. She just could not understand why job expectations might be important. Interestingly, HR disclosed that they had given the ok to provide the description.
