This interview was for an Accountant II position for Centene/Envolve Dental in Tampa, FL. I first met with the VP of Finance for an hour and then the two Accountants they have on staff for about an hour. The VP spent most of the time telling me about the company, the structure, the type of work, and only asked a few official interview questions. It was pretty conversational. The two Accountants had a corporate packet of interview questions to ask me, and they wrote their answers down, presumably to turn in. Centene is the parent company HQ'd in St. Louis, and they operate in many states under different dental provider names. I knew from the recruiter who posted the position that the pay range was $62,000-$75,000. When asked what salary I was looking for, I asked for $65,000 and was extended an offer for that exact amount, with excellent benefits, and 33 paid days off a year. I ultimately declined the offer due to their work schedule, which was 9 am - 6 pm Eastern time. They work these hours to be in line with HQ who works 8-5 in the Central time zone. Tack on a 45 minute commute due to traffic and I would miss dinner with my family every night.
