I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CathWorks (Irvine, CA) in Jun 2023
Interview
A total of seven interviews with six different interviewers. Sr Manager of finance, VP of global HR, Director of Strategy and Advanced Analytics, Chief of Staff, CFO & CEO. 1st round of interview was with the Sr. Manager of finance. Pretty easy going and very straight forward questions of my past work experience. 2nd round of interview was with the the VP of global HR same as the first interview and the interviewer was pretty friendly and professional. Was later called in for another round of interviews with the Director of Strategy and Advanced Analytics, Chief of Staff, CFO & CEO. Altough it was an entry customer service rep level job (posted through my university job website) the interview seemed out of the norm) The process was more on the lengthy side with minimal updates as I had to reach out a couple of times to see if I was still a candidate. Ultimately I was offered a temp to hire position with the possibility of maybe getting benefits reimbursed when I declined that offer and tried to negotiate if I was to be offered the position I finally got the decline. As a start up company it is understandable that there is not an alignment whitin the company when it comes to the hiring process. As a feedback I would advise the following: 1.) Be proactive and upfront at advising applicants of what the actual position entails and not mislead the job posting saying “you will most likey be needed at all depts etc”. As an applicant one tries to see if they will be happy/comfortable in the job description the following years. 2.) Post the job opening as a temp to hire and not as a full time position. Most who are looking for a full time position would move on and not waste your time nor theirs. 3.) Altough the company is still a start up and it is understood that they want to hire who they might feel is best suitable for the position, please keep in mind it is a total of seven personalities trying to make one decision. In the future I would suggest to narrowing it down to only a few that will have the ultimate decision as it would be nearly impossible for a more than a couple to agree in one thing. Overall the hiring process was not horrible but it definitely was not a good one. Please send updates, be realistic with job description, be considerate of other times and minimize the amount of interviewers. If having eveyone interview a potential candidate for any position will be the norm maybe perhapstry setting up virtual interviews, it will save the candidate’s time as well as their expenses driving to the location.
