The interview was conducted by a manager at Amazon and lasted for approximately 1.5 hours. It started with an introduction and questions about my resume, including my projects and any difficulties I have faced. I was also asked behavioral questions to assess my problem-solving abilities and how I approach challenges. One of the technical questions I was asked was to find the number of employees under every manager. I was asked to first provide a brute force approach and then an optimized approach, including time and space complexities. Towards the end of the interview, I was given a question involving a coordinate system for the Milky Way. I was asked to write pseudo code to compute the 100 stars closest to Earth, given that the Milky Way consists of 10^12 stars and their coordinates are stored in a file. I was also asked to consider the time and space complexities of my solution.
