I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Aug 2016
Interview
Telephone w/ recruiter - easy.
1 day in HQ [behavioral 45m; 1hr break; 45m case; 45m case; 45m lunch with nobody who has say in your evaluation; home].
Overall, the cases were simple. Not as detailed as
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. (behavioral) - recall a time you had to meet a pressing deadline. Identify a time you had to influence others.
2 (case #1) - you are CEO of a ISP within just one Metro area. You don't own infrastructure, just rent it from other major ISP. You sell 1 internet package to customers. Your have a call center/support center. How would you know if you are profitable? What factors would you consider?
(case #1.1) - what if you average customer stayed longer (x months), what would be your gut reaction to profitability? Can you calculate?
3. Case 3: break even point for 2 comparable products. Draw profitability chart. Find X. Solve for X on one, then apply to other to find where the two meet (due to constraints that cause each to flatten out in revenue).
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Enjoyed the process until the 3rd interviewer of Power Day. She was a Director that showed up 5 minutes late with no apology, after a few minutes I noticed she was in a very public setting with a lot of people talking and distracting background noises. She wasn't very good at explaining the story and didn't seem to care about the process or the interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (Austin, TX) in Oct 2020
Interview
Interview process starts with a HR phone screening. After the phone screening, there is a phone case interview with business analysis director. This phone interview is a 30-minutes business case, structured business problem analysis skills are the key differentiators.
