I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canva in Nov 2023
Interview
My experience with Canva's interview process left much to be desired. I was so excited and enthusiastic about the role! I matched and exceeded all of the essential and desired criteria. I applied and about 3 weeks later was contacted to book in for an informal chat on the telephone with a 'Talent Team' member. She was slightly late in ringing but nothing extreme, After the informal chat with a member of the Talent Team, I didn't receive any correspondence, despite the talent team member saying I'd hear within 24 hours after she had spoken with the hiring manager. I left it a week and reached out to ask what was happening and any feedback. I received an extremely non personal, 'we are not moving forward with your application' email from her and no feedback at all. I followed up, expressing my continued interest in the role and my alignment with its requirements. Unfortunately, I never received even an acknowledgment in return, which was disappointing and unprofessional.
During the initial conversation, I found the communication from the Talent Team member to be lacking. It felt as though she was distracted and not fully engaged during our discussion. I provided detailed answers to her questions, but her follow-up inquiries indicated a lack of active listening and comprehension. This disconnect in communication seemed to hinder my progress in the process.
I was genuinely enthusiastic about the opportunity at Canva and felt my skills closely matched the job requirements. However, the subpar communication and lack of acknowledgment post-interview left me with a negative impression of the company's hiring process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself.
Have you worked in Universities and schools? (I included information about my experience in schools and universities in my answer to 'tell me about yourself'... so this questions didn't really make sense and felt like the talent team member hadn't listened to a word I'd said).
Can you be flexible to travel to London regularly?
Is there anything else we should know?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Canva (London, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
After initial application I was invited to an interviews very quickly(2-3 days after applying). The interview was self-scheduler which made the process smoother as you can choose whatever day and time suits you best. The interview was pleasant and checked a lot of skills and experience required for the role. I got the decision within 3 days which also was great as you know exactly whether you'll be going to the next stage or not and you don't have to wait around.

Question 1
What organisations would you partner with to grow our community?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Canva (London, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
The process was really friendly, lots of follow ups, and information. The hiring manager was very informative and remained consistent. Although there were several stages, the last stage which was 4th or so, and i had to wait for over 3 weeks because someone who needed to be in the meeting had travelled so that was hard, but overall really positive experience.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Canva (Sydney) in Sept 2025
Interview
Great hiring and interview process from start to finish. Communication was clear and timely, and the team did a great job setting expectations around each stage. There were multiple interview rounds which gave me the chance to meet different managers and team members, which I really appreciated as it helped me get a good sense of the company and how the teams work together. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, easy to chat to, and genuinely open to answering questions about the role, the culture, and the challenges the team is working on. It felt like a two-way conversation rather than a one-sided interview, which made the whole process feel thoughtful and well run.
