      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canadian Solar (Walnut Creek, CA) in Nov 2018

      Interview

I applied on Linkedin. A few days later, I was contacted to have a phone interview in 3 days after that. By the end of phone interview, we schedule for the next interview at the Walnut Creek office in 5 days. After face to face interview with hiring recuiter manager and marketing director, I was contacted 8 days later that they moved on with other candidates. As far as I know, there will be one more interview with the executives if I was able to make it from the second interview.

      9 Dec 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Walnut Creek, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Canadian Solar (Walnut Creek, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Applied through a referral and a few days later I had a phone conversation with HR, quick response! Talked to Marie W., she was very friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic and we had a good conversation, definitely one of the best HR people I've talked to. She was very knowledgable about what Canadian Solar does and answered all the questions I had in a thorough manner. We didn't go over anything technical. Only issue I had was she said she was going to get back to me to see if there was any flexibility on hiring a more senior level designer and higher pay but I didn't hear back. But in the end I determined it wouldn't be a fit for me since I was too senior, lack of career growth and the compensation wasn't enough given that I felt the job description had too many responsibilities for one designer to handle.
