I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (Chalk River, ON)
Interview
I was highly recommended by a senior manager for a position and told to submit my resume to a manager that was looking to recruit new employees in a field where I am an expert. They got back to me in 5 months to begin the hiring process. The first interview was a few weeks later over Teams. I had to present my research and respond to technical questions. The second interview was a month later where I was invited for a site tour. They informed me months after the second interview to tell me that they were working on an offer.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (Chalk River, ON) in Jun 2021
Interview
I had three rounds of interviews with them all of which were online. First, I talked to HR about 40 min, most of which she was explaining about the company the location (Chalk River). After a week, I had an interview with the hiring manager and 3 of her team members, followed by a 30 min presentation on my research to a large group of employees. The interview with the hiring manager and her team was not smooth at all because the two of them could barely speak English. I had to explain my answers, again and again, multiple times.
After 2-3 weeks, I had to follow up with them for the next round. Anyways, I got another round of interviews during which two of the team members, showed me the working environment, their lab, and pilots through MS Teams.
After about 2 weeks, I got an email from them telling me my background does not fit the role!
