Interview
I spent approximately one hour in a panel interview and completed a timed writing exam. Afterwards, I was given a take-home assignment that required several hours of unpaid consultancy work and free ideas from candidates (i.e. they demanded "a list of priorities" for their website, as well as a review of materials before drafting a one-page memo for the Superintendent filled with ideas and suggestions for advancing the district's current engagement work. The assignment left me feeling taken advantage of, and they lacked any basic courtesy to keep me updated and never sent a formal rejection, despite having invested many hours into applying and interviewing. It is very unprofessional to meet with a candidate in person and fail to follow, and reflects very poorly on them as a public organization.

No interview. Just pass the back ground check, finger printing, and other paper work. You also had to do some online training. I was really surprised at this but it turns out that this is pretty normal for substitute teacher jobs

Interview
I have interviewed for several positions within the district and they are all done interview panel style with you as the only candidate. They ask your standard questions but generally there will always be a scenario question involved.
