      Ferry Boat Master Interview

      14 Oct 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Rio Vista, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Caltrans (Rio Vista, CA)

      Interview

Job posted on state job website. Apply through that. Wait at least a year to be called. You will have forgotten by time called. After the interview, it can take up to another year to be called with a job offer. Once you hire on, you are on probation for 6 months during which time you can be let go for any reason; this is rare. It is a lengthy process to get hired into CALTRANS.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

This will not be challenging. The questioners know nothing about marine subjects. They are more interested in your ability to get along with others.
