I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at California Franchise Tax Board (Sacramento, CA)
Interview
Asked to answer a few questions related to legal experience. Given question beforehand and allowed to prepare. Only asked said questions and no more. Very nice interviewers and overall low pressure experience.
2 interviews. Will be contacted to meet with management. Can do video interview if out of the city. Questions are based on set questions designed by HR. Same process as any other government job.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at California Franchise Tax Board (Sacramento, CA) in May 2018
Interview
The interview process is strictly confidential; it includes signing an agreement to not disclose the contents of the questions. What I can say is, even if you aren't a "tax" person, you would be able to answer the questions. Take time to prepare for a basic interview, but you'll have plenty of time to prepare your answers to the questions.
Overall, the interview was very warm and "fun" despite being felt like I was being deposed.
