      Finance Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CSX (Jacksonville, FL) in Mar 2011

      Interview

I received an email from CSX' HR Manager asking if I'm interested in a position in their company. Of course I did and scheduled a call for an interview. As in any typical 1st interviews, my experience, skills, location preference etc were discussed. The interview went well and was informed that I will be scheduled for a phone interview with the hiring manager. Prior to the call I was asked to complete a more detailed questionnaire about projects I have completed in my previous employment. It turns out the resume and the questionnaire were the focus of the interview by the hiring manager and the HR manager (it was a group phone interview). After the call I did not hear from them until 2 weeks later. This time informing me of a on site interview in Jacksonville. But I had a to complete several other tests taken online prior to being scheduled. Also a case was given a week before the visit where will have to present my findings to a panel. My experience with the interviewing team was very positive. They were all professional, friendly and accomodating. Overall I enjoyed the interview process. I believe it is very thorough and well planned.

      Interview

I applied for the internship on the CSX website and on my university career site. I met two different recruiters at events at my university. I was emailed with an interview offer that week. I did a one on one interview with one of the higher up finance managers. Currently still waiting to hear back from the company. It wasn't too difficult. Mostly behavioral questions.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CSX (Jacksonville, FL) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Timed finance assessment first (basic balance sheet/time value of money questions), then short phone interview if you pass. There was a dinner the night before the actual interviews with the other candidates and two employees. It was very relaxed and the restaurant was quite nice. The next day there were two 1:1 interviews and a case study presentation. After that, you are taken to lunch with another set of two employees. You and the other candidates rotate throughout the day doing your interviews/presentations and get to talk a lot in-between. The whole experience was so laid-back and there are endless opportunities to talk to plenty of employees. They've been using the same case study for years, and it's just important to realize that they aren't necessarily paying attention to the exact numbers you get, it's more of how you present the information that counts. The interviews were relaxed and just went over your resume and experience-related questions (Pro tip: drink as much water as you can between each activity). Offer came 4 days later. It's a great company, and I was so anxious when I didn't need to be. They really make you feel at home!

      Interview

Very casual. Dinner, and two behavioral interviews with a case study. Really want people who know a lot about the railroad industry. Dinner the night before is at a pretty nice restaurant with one senior and one more junior associate. Probably wont see these two people the next day. 2 one on one interviews and a case study presentation. They ask a few questions about basic DCF and your assumptions
