      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CRU International (London, England) in Mar 2014

      Interview

Initially, there was an analysis assessment task sent out to me via email. This involved crunching some data in Excel and presenting conclusions in PowerPoint/Word. It was quite an open-ended task with no right or wrong answers. There was a 90 minute time window to complete. Subsequently, I was invited to an interview with a consultant and an HR manager. I was then invited to a second stage interview with the head of team and head of analysis unit straight after. I was applying for a Research Analyst role (bottom of the hierarchy), so no detailed knowledge of the metals and mining sector was expected. We mainly discussed analysis skills acquired at university and my previous job.

      Interview

      1. They send you an email with an Excel file (10 sheets of data) , a Word report template, a PowerPoint slide template. Analyze the data and create a free report about the data and make some charts. 2. They called me to go to their main offices in my country. They asked me for my academic and work experience. Then, they asked me about economic topics. 3. I had an interview via Skype with the CEO in London and an actual Research Analyst. They asked about me and my experience. 4. They sent me an offer letter (I decided to reject it).

      Research Analyst Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CRU International (London, England) in Nov 2016

      Interview

Went through three stages: first stage is a report created within 90 minutes from data sent to via email, followed by an one on one interview and then a final stage interview with a presentation. Generally good, friendly atmosphere and staff. One huge negative was the lack of correspondence after the interview. Was told to wait a few weeks due to other candidate interviews, however I never heard the result of my interview and my follow up email appeared to be ignored. Quite frustrating.
