      Werkstudent ESG & AI Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CGI in Dec 2024

      Interview

I was invited to interview for a working student position. In my email, I requested that the interview be conducted in English so I could present myself effectively, and this was agreed upon. On the interview day, I joined the meeting via the provided link and waited for almost ten minutes. Just as I was about to contact HR to confirm if I had the correct link, I heard a man speaking. The situation worsened when the interviewer casually mentioned that his “workers” were waiting for him and that he’d be back shortly. Not only did he arrive late, but he also made me wait even longer. When he eventually returned, he started speaking in German this time, introducing himself. I reminded him that, as per my request, the interview was supposed to be conducted in English, and we switched languages. The interview itself wasn’t technical, but the interviewer’s ego is worth a mention! At one point, he even commented, "I’m not that old, despite having a lot of experience. You can learn a lot from me." It was astonishingly unprofessional. I was told they would get back to me by Friday of the first week of December. Fast forward to over a month later: after sending three follow-up emails, I finally received a rejection email this morning. It’s disappointing to see that, even in 2025, some companies still ghost their applicants.
