I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CD PROJEKT RED in Dec 2025
Interview
I sent my CV and portfolio and received a reply after two weeks. They sent me a test task with four days to complete. There was no video call or initial screening.
The brief was quite vague and rather generic for that role. I completed the task and submitted the finished work, then waited another two weeks for a response.
I eventually received a rejection along with some feedback. I got the impression that the person who reviewed the task did not put much effort into it. The feedback contained a few vague remarks that could apply to about 90% of blockouts.
Overall, it felt like they were expecting overdelivery rather than adherence to the brief, which I find unreasonable considering that an experienced professional would be expected to spend four days creating unpaid work.
The lack of a follow-up call with the lead to discuss my decisions left me with the feeling that they did not care about the time I invested.

How could I prioritize the release of important features in a AAA game
The first step was a take home assignment consisting of three parts (web app pentest + report, code review, OSINT). On the first agreed date, the test web app didn’t work. Had to agree on a new date. Quite basic stuff difficulty wise. After passing this stage, there was an interview with two security folks.
The rejection email was a copy-paste message, no actual feedback.
