      Program Manager Interview

      17 Mar 2026
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at CBTS in Feb 2026

      Interview

Approached by the recruiter online. Sent my resume. Interviewed with the potential employer. Got an offer - declined - they came back and said the company really wanted me - negotiated to an agreeable amount - and I got hired. Completed the background screening process, drug test, solidified a start date. The Sunday morning before my start day I got a text message from HR saying that my start date got pushed out two days. Weird, but ok. HR called me on Monday morning of what was to be my original start date and said the project did not get its funding and the role was no longer available. I was, to say the least, flabbergasted. I was previously a managing consultant for another firm and worked with and hired with many consultant agencies in my previous roles. This was, by far, the most unethical, underhanded thing I can remember ever happening. I would avoid CBTS like the plague after the hiring process and wasted time I went through. I do not recommend this firm and would encourage anyone being hired by them to continue looking even after you agree to being hired.
