I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CARVANA (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
They had me fill out an online availability form from which they scheduled the phone interview. the interviewer called me and asked pretty standard questions about my history/experience, why I thought I'd be a good fit, etc. If selected to move on there would have been a phone interview with someone in the same position, then with a person in charge of hiring, and ultimately a face to face with a senior manager. From there the chosen candidate would do a few weeks of shadowing another Market Operations Manager and then would be shadowed for a week or so as he/she began the role.

Interview
Received request for phone interview about a day after applying. Phone interview is with an HR rep and the purpose is to discuss the intended role, answer questions, and determine salary expectations. For myself, my expectations were about 30% over their intended budget for the role (They budgeted $70,000 base for my market). The interview basically halted there because it was obvious it wasn't a match. I did try to say I was ok with the package as stated because I was interested in learning more about the company, but I completely understand their decision to go in a different direction. Received an automated email two days later.

Interview
I recently had an interview for the Market Operations Manager Position. I was quickly selected for an interview very shortly after submitting an application.
Interview was very, very informal with limited information from the recruiter. I was driving the conversation and asking the majority of questions - it seemed they were only interested in learning what my salary expectations were vs really understanding my qualifications for the position.

Question 1
- What is your background?
- What are your salary expectations?
The first corporate recruiter was professional and engaging. Spent an hour on the phone with her, got really great vibes. She passed me onto someone else to schedule an interview with field management. Got scheduled for an interview, which they cancelled 3 hours before it was scheduled. Got rescheduled for the following week with someone else in the field. He was confused about the process which had happened to that point. Was unaware they were trying to have me manage two markets rather than one, which apparently is very atypical. The interviewer had to call me because they hadn't coordinated my video conference interview with him. While I didn't mind the confusion and changing situations too much because they are a fairly new company, I didn't appreciate the informality that the field interviewer presented by swearing multiple times throughout the interview.

Question 1
The last interviewer didn't really ask structured questions. Informal conversation, but the phone screening asked typical management questions. What was the most difficult conversation you had to have with an employee, tell me about a time when you received a very difficult piece of feedback
