Had an initial one-way video interview in which 5 basic questions were asked, and I had to film a video response for each one. Already, this gave me a bad feeling about this company. If you don't care enough to give me a screening with an actual person, what are you doing?
Following the screening I had a 15-minute phone call scheduled with a recruiter where she gave me an overview of the position. I had about 5-6 questions about the role, the company, etc. and she was talking so quickly it felt like she couldn't wait to get off the phone with me. Her answers to my questions about DEI felt very surface-level.
I was moved on to the next interview stage, which I was told would be with the hiring manager and "key members" of the team. They told me that the length of the session depended on team availability, but told me to plan for up to 60-minutes. I sent a follow-up email asking for clarification on this interview process, not understanding exactly what was going on. I have never had an interview in which some people may or may not show up to it. I never received a response to my questions, and decided to rescind my application because the whole thing just gave me a bad feeling in my gut.
They also asked me to provide my references' information before even meeting the hiring manager, which made me feel uneasy.
