A recruiter reached out to me (May 2025) to discuss the role and my interest in it. This lead to further conversations via email sharing my CV and portfolio.
This was passed on to the employer where a face to face interview was arranged via the recruiter. Interview went well, discussing how the role would impact the team and the direction the company wanted to go in.
The recruiter got back in touch mentioning I was the strongest candidate and proceeded to the next part of the application process.
This involved designing a 16 spread brochure and 3 marketing pieces. This took a full working week to complete. Unpaid.
The recruiter got back in touch mentioning that the employer was impressed with what I produced again being the strongest candidate. With the next stage being final face to face interview in office and presumably an offer of the role.
A few days later I got a direct call from the recruiter mentioning Brook Taverner decided to go no further with hiring any candidate. I asked why to which the recruiter mentioned the Directors of the company no longer saw the budget in the role.
I was not compensated financially for the work I produced for Brook Taverner, nor did the employer reached out in person for any closure on the application.
