Interview
Asking about someone's motivation and understanding of their role involves inquiring into their personal reasons and intentions for choosing their specific role, as well as how they perceive the responsibilities and expectations associated with it. This approach helps to gauge their commitment, insight, and suitability for the position, ensuring they align with the goals and culture of the team or organization. It also provides a deeper understanding of their professional and personal drivers, aiding in building a more effective and cohesive working relationship.

Interview
I was aksed to write a laravel program to manage employees. I was then questioned on my working code sample in a second phone interview. The interviewer asked questions outside of the original requirement in the hope that I would have gone the extra mile even though it was an excessively long test, and consequently turned me down. I thought the senior developer conducting the interview was unrealistic and harsh in her outlook. The comments and criticisms she made were obvious and didn't add any value to the process, obviously I could have done more but there has to be a cut off point, I spent an entire week on the application and I have 20 years of experience of PHP. She was rather rude and abrasive in general and said she wanted someone with more PHP experience even though I've been in the field for 20 years and previously contracted as a PHP developer at £300 a day.
