A huge waste of time. I interviewed from June/2019--July/2019. I had my first phone call with a recruiter who immediately connected me with the team lead. Both of those interviews went well. During my final round of interviews with the SMB channel team in Austin, one of the reps did not ask me any questions related to the role or my background. Instead, she bragged about how she was the "best on the team" and asked me pointed questions like "did we recruit you or did you apply?" and that "I should stay at Google and good luck with that." I began the interview by introducing myself and telling her that I worked at Google and Microsoft. That set her off and brought out her insecurities. The rest of the interview was spent boosting her self esteem and making her feel good about her experience. She spent zero time getting to know me.
I have done partner development at Microsoft and Google. Box hires people based on what "feels" right to them, not based on qualifications or fit.
Sometimes you find very insecure people in tech sales who need a lot of help not projecting their issues on others. I lost out on a job opportunity because someone was intimidated by my resume. I was discriminated against by someone else's lack of self worth.
Alex in Austin, Texas who does SMB channel management--get a therapist. Shame on you.
