I was notified by the President of the company the day prior that he would be in town. It was clear he did not look at my CV, research documents he requested or even the position I was applying to before he sat down to ask questions.
He was most interested in my knowledge of languages and my visa status for countries I previously worked in. He started by asking if I want to work in Mexico, then asked about Saudi Arabia; when I mentioned I was only interested in the UAE, he went on a tantrum about how young people cannot expect to be paid to fly back and forth and "live the dream" and that our interview was over- until I told him I explicitly mentioned UAE on my cover letter next to the position. He said maybe then we can work something out.
The next day the President connected me with his team in Mexico which went well, they gave an overview of the project. I emailed the President 2 weeks later for an update, no reply. 2 months later I got offer to enter a project.
When I read previous glassdoor review on the company that said "Run Away", I decided to still give it a try. Now I can second the statement: "Run Away"
