      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Boom Supersonic (Hartford, CT) in Jan 2023

      Interview

After dancing back and forth between a recruiter, spoke with the director of the department twice once before and after the engine announcement. Got a 3 hour virtual interview. Pulled together a presentation, but it appears the department members didn’t listen to my presentation. The path they are taking with their aircraft design is extremely risky, and has never been taken in the industry. It appears the senior leadership never built an aircraft and are from the tech industry. The end of the decade first flight goal is laughable at best.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Pretty generic questions focused on the product.

Thank you for sharing your experience interviewing at Boom. We appreciate the feedback you’ve shared. At Boom, we have ambitious goals and it requires inspirational and committed team members to realize our vision of supersonic commercial flight. We’ve achieved critical milestones on our path to Overture’s first flight, including announcing tier-one suppliers, Overture Superfactory construction, and Symphony, our new Overture engine. Our goals require hard work in a fast-paced environment with strict federal regulations. - Gary

I applied online. I interviewed at Boom Supersonic in Oct 2025

      Interview

      - 20 min long phone screen to introduce each other, ask about my prior projects and why I'm applying, and what I'd be interested in doing - zoom interview with SMEs to ask more question about previous projects and discipline-specific substance. - Facility tour, onsite presentation, and multiple 1 on 1 interviews. You'll present on something you know well or are interested in. They quiz you for your understanding and presentation and WILL find out exactly what you do/don't know. 1-on-1 interviews are super chill and are moderately technical
