Overall, the screening process felt unstructured, with questions jumping between topics and little explanation of how the conversation would be conducted. For a senior-level role, I would have expected a more organized discussion around the position, team, and expectations.
At the end of the call, I asked the interviewer what they enjoyed most about working at Boom, and the response focused primarily on perks and wearing multiple hats rather than the work itself, the people, or the company's mission. The conversation also highlighted supporting responsibilities outside of one's core role. Some candidates may find that exciting, but I left with the impression that the company places a strong emphasis on flexibility and broad ownership due to the team's lean size.
