I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Blue-O Technology
Interview
Both interviews were very unprofessional and disappointing. the first interview was about one hour on skills review and some irrelevant private and family-related questions, without describing the company and the position or salary range.
the second interview was a bit more specific after signing a confidential agreement on interview contents. However, the conservative interviewer (CEO) had a very basic knowledge of the scientific aspect of the work that I was asked to explain and it was hard to understand his points when it comes to science. I think he was just there to not being asked about the accuracy of the questions. He wanted me to be confident in my answers but personally, I can't say anything when the questions are not clearly and scientifically asked. Overall, the interviewer has not experienced leading a scientific interview.

Question 1
I was asked loads of questions, the level of the questions in the first interview was very basic and general to some extent that I was doubtful on the seriousness of the position I have applied for. I found the family-related questions very irrelevant. I was asked for the second interview after almost 2 months when they collected the reference letters. In the second one which I was asked to do in person during the pandemic, the questions were a bit more specific on the other people's publications. However, it was disappointing to see the lack of even the basic knowledge of the interviewer (CEO) on the interview contents.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Blue-O Technology (Burnaby, BC) in Dec 2019
Interview
It was one interview, one-on-one with the CEO. I was asked many general, typical questions and also to review electron microscopy images. I was also asked some questions I considered inappropriate about my health and my marital status.
I left with a very negative impression of the company's culture. Was told to expect a follow-up call, which never came (I would have declined anyway).

I do not remember the exact wording but I was asked whether I was healthy and would be taking much sick leave (apropos of nothing).
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Blue-O Technology (Burnaby, BC) in Apr 2015
Interview
Through college website, the boss will contact the college and book you for an interview where you have to attend at a designated time. Enter the door, greet current employees who are working downstairs. Head upstairs, say hi to the boss and he will ask you to make yourself at home, drink a cup of coffee from the vending machine. When he asks you to come into the interview room, and answer his interview questions. When he shows sign that he doesn't like your response, accept it and try to take his advice as he enjoys giving instant feedbacks.
