I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Blue Fountain Media (New York, NY) in Mar 2021
Interview
I went through this process end of March/beginning of April 2021. I was ghosted after 3 rounds and after being told I was the "top candidate" multiple times by the internal recruiter. A complete waste of my time and energy.
Rd. 1 - Generic recruiter screen.
Rd. 2 - 1hr interview with the hiring manager including an off-the-cuff case study presentation. I rly liked her vibe, but she seemed stressed. I was unsure what to make of it.
Rd. 2.5 - Easy take-home design challenge (albeit with minimal, confusing directions).
Rd. 3 - 1hr Interview with 2 UX designers on the team. Both seemed like genuinely nice people, but I left feeling unsure of their ability, knowledge of design methods, and understanding of process.
All rounds went very well and I feel gaslighted by the experience. Thankfully, I got an offer from a much better company for a role at a higher seniority level a few weeks later. Unless you're desperate for a job (as was I), I'd suggest passing on Blue Fountain.

Question 1
Walk me through a case study on your portfolio site.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Blue Fountain Media (New York, NY) in Jul 2020
Interview
Honestly, the hiring and interviewing process was a complete waste of my time and energy. 5... yes, FIVE interview rounds with an ask for 6. I spent hours of planning, research and practicing for a job that they never intended to hire me for. Completely ghosted by their HR rep that could barely remember to send me the Zoom conference links and abruptly hung up on me when I inquired about the hiring timeline after waiting patiently for a month and a half.
Completely unprofessional especially during Covid to treat a candidate, let alone a person like this.

Interview
Skype only interview never spoke to a human. Interview seemed like it was computer generated. After being told i was hired, I never heard back and was told I did not finish the interview even though i was told through skype that i was hired.
On behalf of BFM, we are so incredibly sorry for this experience. PLEASE NOTE THIS WAS NOT US as we are dealing with a group of scammers posing as our hiring managers and conducting interviews over skype. All BFM interviews are scheduled via e-mail or through LinkedIn and the first round is always a phone call, second round being in person if local OR in a ZOOM conf. video meeting if remote.
