I interviewed on my college campus early November 2010. Following the interview, I received an email thanking me for the interview as well as a formal reminder to submit a formal application on their website. I submitted my formal application the following day and immediately received a confirmation email and a "we will be in touch with you shortly" line. Three days later I received a congratulatory email from the main campus recruiter inviting me to attend a second round interview at the NYC headquarters. She provided four possible interview dates and I had to select two to three. Your interview day begins at 8am and all travel arrangements are made at the expense of the company. After an AM group tour and individual interview with 2-3 Bloomberg employees, you find out if you are invited for a final afternoon interview to occur in a few hours. In the meantime, you are given a substantial VISA gift card to go eat lunch (I chose Le Cirque for the proximity). After your final interview (I made it to the final rounds), I received an email from HR four days later confirming the company was not extending an offer for employment at that time. As always, you should follow up with hand written thank you cards regardless of the final decision.
