Saw a posting on Square’s career page that seemed like a good fit so I submitted my resume. Received a quick notification that it was being reviewed, and ultimately received a screening call with a recruiter. That went well which led to a screening call with the hiring manager, which went well and led to a panel interview with 4 different people over 2-3 hours. Everything went well and was very professional until all communication stopped after the last interview. Inquiries with the recruiter go unanswered, which appears to be a common theme based on other reviews. The interviewers gave a lot of detail about really minor things like setting up your work laptop and stipends for home offices, which certainly made it seem like the only thing left was an offer.
I would still recommend interviewing if a position interests you, but I would be very weary that you cannot read into anything said along the way (i.e., this is what you need to do to set up your laptop, this is who you’ll work with on these projects, we will likely have an offer in 24-48 hours, etc.). You should certainly be aware you might breeze right through then never hear from Square again.
