Applied online. I will say their system has a glitch that I initially got a "thank you for applying email" which I thought was a rejection but a Recruiter followed up a week later to schedule initial screening call. After screening call, call with hiring manager. After that went smoothly was invited on-site for an interview. They flew me cross country and paid for hotel, airfare and expenses. Met with 6 different people, directors of the department, people I would be working with and hiring manager. After the interview I was given a tour and a gift bag which was very nice of them.
I feel like everyone there is very passionate about what they do and working at Blizzard. Everyone from the receptionists, recruiters, etc. all love Blizzard products and the company. I felt the interviews went well however when I followed up a week later I was let known that they were moving forward with another candidate but to contact my recruiter again if I was interested in another position. Something to note, the recruiter as well as another person I interviewed with mentioned that they both applied numerous times before getting the job so if it didn't workout this time to apply again. Another person mentioned them being put off by you playing other games but they went as far as to ask me what other games I played and what my interests are outside of Blizzard as well.
