i applied via linkedin.
i was contacted a week or so later from a very pleasant individual to set up initial interviews from members of the team.
i wont get into specifics, but all the management folks or manufacturing associates seemed very transparent and pleasant. very forthcoming with issues they are/were having etc. seemed like really hard workers.
it wasnt until i interviewed with the COO when the main reasons for their current predicament took light.
lets just say she was not organized and literally was interviewing me from her bed. yes, that is correct. her bed. red flag number one. red flag number two came with her first question of "walk me through your resume and tell of your greatest accomplishment..." so much for behavior based or STAR formats. but the biggest red flag of all was when i did inform her of my greatest accomplishment which happened to be military based and dealing with special ops. she tried to "One up me" by stating one of her friends daughters has just graduated annapolis and is the first female to make a boat crew for spec ops etc.
lastly, the fact that im black or african - american didnt seem to help. her demeanor noticeably changed when she saw i wasnt white. im bringing that up simply because i read the reviews from current employees and their reviews of "lack of diversity " seems to ring true. she seemed to hire blacks for "black jobs" (manual labor) and NOT upper management to which the job i was applying.
i knew i was not moving forward when i asked when i would hear back from them. she responded "a couple of days..."
i have heard absolutely nothing.
so what does that tell you?
