      Customer Support Specialist Interview

      4 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Fort Collins, CO
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at BillGO (Fort Collins, CO) in Sept 2022

      Interview

1st week: Phone interview on Monday. I was asked the minimum amount I was willing to accept. I advised $50,000 a year. I interviewed a second time that same week on Thursday. 2nd week: Interviewed with the director. 3rd week: They offered to send me an offer letter, but it took them four additional weeks just to come back with a $21.64/hr offer. A $7,000 difference based on what I asked for at $50,000. 3 weeks into the process I noticed they changed their salary requirements and lowered their starting salary from 50k to 65k for the position to 36k to 50k. Also, the offer indicated the start date wouldn't be until the beginning of December. Overall, a bad experience with a small start-up company, and it took them over 2 months just to get back to me with an initial offer.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BillGO (Fort Collins, CO) in Dec 2025

      Interview

I was headhunted by a recruiter for the role based on past roles and job experience. Most communication came from the recruiter not the company themselves. The interview was conducted by two people within the support department, one did most of the talking and the other person rarely spoke at all. This second person could have been having a bad day, been worn out from many earlier interviews and just not wanted to participate so I give them a break in that. Once we got the end of the interview and I was asking my questions this second person became defensive to one of my organization evaluation questions. This response solidified my concern about what I had read about the organizations recent changes from current and former employees. I also asked that if the answer is no for me within this role that they just communicate that, I am able to handle the rejection and respect the ability to say, "sorry we went a different direction". They ghosted me post interview, even further solidifying my hesitancy with them as an employer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Where you okay with the job being an in office role only, They were adamant on the people they interviewed to be comfortable with working within an office building setting. They also wanted to know if you were comfortable with difficult customer interactions.
