I was greeted by a receptionist who informed me that the day's interviews were falling 'a little behind'. I was made to wait for an hour before I was seen.
As this was a first-round interview, it was treated more like a casual chat. The manager took a moment to explain that they were hiring both a Production Coordinator & a Marketing Coordinator, and had pooled together both sets of applicants with the hope of hiring one person (quote: "whoever we feel would fit best") for each position (I have absolutely zero marketing experience, so found this very odd).
I had stated my salary expectation in my written application (it was a compulsory requirement - the salary was listed as 'competitive' on the job ad). I asked the manager for the specific salary amount, and it was significantly less than my current salary (listed on my CV), and the salary expectation I had submitted.
