I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Big River Resort (Wabasha, MN) in Sept 2012
Interview
You will be interviewed by one of the owners. No new age games with personality testing. Owners handle interviewing in a relaxed and respectful manner. When training begins, an owner will work side by side with you to demonstrate the techniques they wish you to implement. As soon as you feel that you can handle the responsibilities, you are left to oneself. Communication lines are open and friendly. Policies and responsibilities are clearly laid out in an employee binder. Basically, a stress free environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When a "double booking" or an "over booking" situation occurs due to human error, the resort staff secures other accomendations for the affected party. Calling the party to notify them of the error can be uncomfortable, however, necessary. If appropriate, the resort has absorbed the difference in cost incurred by a stay outside of the resort. Another option utilized, has been to upgrade the accommodations at the resort for the lesser price, thus affording our guest a pleasant alternative when available.
