      Business Intelligence Developer Interview

      1 Sept 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Midvale, UT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Beyond, Inc. (Midvale, UT) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Everything was so smooth. I had one interview with HR that went well. Following that interview, I had the opportunity to prepare a dataset for the team interview. I had about 7 people in my interview and it lasted one hour and 45 minutes. It was so nice to have one interview instead of multiple.

      Application

      Interview

Round 1 - interview with the recruiter. The recruiter had an incorrect mobile number in the system (not my fault) and didn't call me on time, later apologized and set up an interview with the hiring manager. So the compensation expectation was never discussed. Round 2 - 30mins interview with the hiring manager. Was asked about my experience and some technical questions. Round 3 - 1.5hr interview with the entire team. Questions asked about the project they gave me to build a dashboard, technical and behavioral questions, tested my SQL experience. Received an offer the following day.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Beyond, Inc. (Midvale, UT) in Mar 2018

      Interview

First there was a phone interview with the recruiter. She asked the regular questions like tell me about yourself and why you're looking for a new career. Then asked a few questions to know that I knew SQL. Then there was a phone interview with manager and team. Similar to the first phone interview but a little more in depth. Next was the in-person interview with director, manager, and team. During this they get to know you better as a person then do a whiteboard skills check with random SQL questions from hypothetical databases. Lastly, wait for them to let you know if you will get an offer or if they are looking at other people for the position.

Solving random scenarios with hypothetical databases. Nothing too difficult if you have worked with SQL in the past.
