The interview process was focused primarily on assessing my knowledge and experience with the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg). It started with an initial screening call to discuss my background and experience in web development, particularly my work with WordPress. The main interview consisted of a technical round where I was asked to demonstrate my understanding of the Block Editor, including how to create custom blocks, extend existing blocks, and optimize block usage for performance and SEO. There were also questions on debugging and resolving common issues associated with the Block Editor. Overall, the process was thorough, aiming to gauge both technical proficiency and problem-solving skills related to WordPress development.

Question 1
What steps do you take to ensure accessibility when using the WordPress Block Editor?
How do you approach developing a website using the WordPress Block Editor?
Can you describe your process for taking a website from concept to completion?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Berman & Co. (Washington, DC) in Feb 2024
Interview
Interview process was pretty easy -- one screener interview, a writing test, and another interview with managing members of the team. While there weren't any 'gotcha' questions throughout the interview, and everyone was pretty nice they didn't even take the time to let me know I wasn't moving forward after I dedicated 8+ hours to their interview process. Wouldn't work for them just based on that.

Question 1
Is there a topic/policy issue that is off limits for you?
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Berman & Co. (Washington, DC) in Jan 2017
Interview
Very friendly during interview process and very down to earth about what the job is like. They make you take a test sort of like the SAT with logical, math, and reading comp questions. It takes about an hour, and not sure how that is used to factor in whether you're chosen or not. For my position, I would have met with Rick Berman after the test was completed but I ended up taking a different job before then. They knew I had Hill experience and so were willing to be flexible in creating a new position that worked with my skills.

Question 1
Nothing unique or noteworthy, just in particular why I wanted to work for the company. They also shared some of their main projects and asked if I reviewed them and what interested me about them, and which of them I gravitated to.
