Interview
I was reached out to on LinkedIn about a role not yet advertised. I met with the internal recruiter which went well, they then set me up with a hiring manager interview.
The hiring manager interview also seemed to go well and I was excited at the prospect of working with them. They mentioned at the end of the call that they wished to progress me to the next stage (with their manager, the Director in the US.)
The recruiter reached out a week later to set up time to meet the Director, I confirmed a slot and on the day no meeting was set. I had to reach out an hour before the interview was due to take place to confirm it was happening and they got back to say unfortunately something had come up and the Director could no longer make the call.
A few days later the recruiter said for GDPR reasons they had to 'officially' advertise the role and get me to submit my CV through the job posting but that I would not be subject to the whole process again and she would reach out with the Director’s availability asap. (I should have pulled out there but I really liked the hiring manager so said I’d give them the benefit of the doubt)
A week later I still hadn’t heard so I reached out to the recruiter, nothing.
Two weeks after that (and almost 2 months after my initial interview with the recruiter) I received a generic rejection email about my application. (the CV I was asked to submit for GDPR reasons)
I understand things can happen and mis-haps can occur but this was very poorly managed every step of the way. I hope Bentley learn from this and put better practices in place for future candidates.

Nice friendly interviews, three steps before offer. I would say its a standard set up for a manager interview role and ive done a few recently. Process took longer than other companies but good communication between the different steps.

Good process, efficient. Three interviews in total, one HR, one with manager, one with higher manager. Two virtual interviews and one in person. Standard HR questions and more specific job related questions in follow up interviews.
