I recently had the pleasure of interviewing for a Business Development Representative (BDR) position at Benepass, and I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience. From the moment the interview process started, it was clear that this was going to be unlike any other interview I had encountered. The process was not only amazingly smooth but also incredibly engaging, making it a standout experience for me.
What truly set this process apart was the genuine care and attention I received from the Recruiter. It was evident that they were not just assessing my skills and experience but were also deeply interested in me as an individual. This approach made me feel valued and respected throughout the many conversations, fostering a comfortable and open dialogue.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Benepass in May 2024
Interview
I initially applied for the Account Executive position. From the date of application submission to getting my first interview, it did take about three weeks. During the three weeks, I was able to touch base with the recruiter, Lauren, via email. I have nothing but high praise for Lauren. She really does set a great representation of the company - highly responsive and detailed oriented.
Despite my position as an AE at my current company, Lauren did advise that my lack of enterprise sales background did not fit the position they were hiring for. She then put my application through the BDR hiring process. Ultimately, I did not advance to the next phase because the hiring manager was specifically looking for someone with SaaS experience.
Understanding that this is a startup company, the recruiter and hiring team need to be selective on who is brought onboard. Despite not being able to join the team, I am still very grateful for the consideration.
Hopefully, as the company grows, there will be more opportunities for BDR and AE positions for those with eclectic sales background.
