      ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/PAYROLL BOOKKEEPER Interview

      12 Jan 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Quincy, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Beers Tax Service (Quincy, IL) in Jun 2013

      Interview

I applied for this position (blind ad in newspaper) and was called for an interview within 3 days of mailing my resume. When I walked in the office I was immediately aware of the lack of cleaning in the office. Layers of dust covered just about everything, the floor needed to be vacuumed, and things just looked cluttered. I was greeted by the owners daughter and we went to the "conference room" for the interview. The owner joined us and we introduced ourselves. We went over the position they were interviewing for (not in detail) and then made small talk. I felt VERY overdressed for the interview, which took approximately 30 minutes. I left with a confident, satisfied feeling about the interview. I didn't hear anything regarding the position for about 4 days so I called and they stated they had filled the position and I thanked them for their time. I received a phone call from them about a week later asking me if I was still available, which I was. They explained that the individual they hired was not going to work out and they wanted to offer me the position. I accepted and started my employment on July 1, 2013.
