      Sales Associate Interview

      8 Oct 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond

      Interview

Applied on Snagajob.com, got a call the next day from the store manager. He asked me to come in and fill out an in-store application that day, I did so, had an interview with him that day, then another interview the next day with another employee of the store. Each interview was about an hour, most of which was spent teaching me about the job's expectations and how the store runs and so on. There were more questions than I listed (I can only list 5 questions and answers here) but you can get a general idea of what they're looking for. They ask a few "how would you handle xyz" questions to see what you know about customer service, the standard "why do you want to work here," "what can you bring to our business," etc. Nothing impossibly hard. I am saying I did not get an offer only because my second and final interview was yesterday and they will be interviewing a few more candidates before making a decision on who to hire, however based on my conversations with each of the two people who interviewed me they seemed to like my experience (about 9 years of working in my father's business, which was another retail business, where I took on all of the duties of running the business rather than only doing one specific job (like a cashier) which is how their store operates. It has been hard for me to get a job because most employers don't like the fact that my only work experience was working for an immediate family member (or they probably think that since my father would be my only real work reference that they can't trust what he says about my work habits, etc) and the two interviews I had here at BB&B seemed to be the first time anybody took my experience working there seriously. Overall this interview was relaxed and
