Initially contacted and interviewed by a recruiter who put me in touch with the hiring manager. Interview with the hiring manager was surprisingly laid back. Talked about my background and qualification. Also some unrelated casual conversation. Hired soon after
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Baker Hughes
Interview
Looking back, this is the only company I've ever applied to which sent an invitation to interview and then pulled it back. My response to their invitation included the words, "I look forward to learning more about this opportunity." The hiring manager went ballistic, saying " the purpose of an interview is not to teach you about the job, and you should know what you're getting into before you commit." And that was the end of that. I'm assuming this manager was accustomed to barking around disposable replaceable employees all day every day. Anyone want to work for Baker Hughes?
