Interview
I was invited for an interview around May for the Materials Planner position at BTC Power. When I arrived, the first Gentleman who I spoke to was very kind. He asked relevant questions regarding job experience, how I think I’d be a good fit, etc. I thought everything was going well. This is the point at which the first interviewer leaves to get the second interviewer. The second interviewer then started to read up on my work experience with my resume in front of him, and went on to state that my most current job has no relevance to the job I applied for. He then rudely said he would walk me out, and that the interview was over.
Mind you that my work experience was indeed relevant, and the job in which I was being interviewed for (Materials Planner) was something I literally had a bachelors degree for (Supply Chain/Logistics)
They invited me out to an interview, 45 minutes from my house, only to waste not only my time, but their time as well. If there was no interest in the experience clearly depicted on my resume, what was the point in inviting me out to an interview?
Seems as though they have terrible screening for interviews and they’re desperate for hires, all while the second interviewer has some sort of fantasy expectation of his candidates.
If a customer wants a specific wire, but the supplier of the wire is extremely inconsistent with their delivery times/availability, how would you go about satisfying the customer?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at BTCPower (Santa Ana, CA) in May 2022
Interview
Quick, to the point and rushed.
Hiring manager asked to give examples regarding daily and weekly work functions.
HIring manager asked for examples on my past accomplishments and how I went about achieving them

Interview
I had 3 interviews and multiple calls with the recruiter. The last interview was almost 8 hours long. I had to take time off from work for all the interviews, including 3 days to fly down for the final interview.
I had to take some skills tests, which, according to the recruiter, I passed.
I did not get the job for personality reasons, which is understandable. But, it was a lot of time spent trying to get the job. I feel they should have decided that earlier in the process that they didn't like my personality.
Also, one of the interviewers told me they wanted to hire me if I could pass the skills test, which I did. But, I did not get the job.
It's really too many hoops to jump through and too much of your time for just a technician job. The market is red-hot for skilled work and I was a good candidate that got passed up.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the final interview there were some basic component identification and troubleshooting questions. It was a pretty reasonable skills test.
Unfortunately, they wasted 5 hours giving tours and talking about the company again, which they had already explained in detail in previous interviews.
