Applied through on campus recruiting and interviewed with HR. That part went fine and was flown in for the super day. Once I got there, I was being asked questions that were not suited for my skill set. My interviewer made my life miserable for that whole hour and he knew that I couldn't answer these questions. My recruiter acknowledged that I was being asked questions that were not suited for me after I finished. Overall, it was a stressful day that was wasted for both parties. Not sure what he was thinking at all.
I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BNY (New York, NY)
Interview
This was my favorite interview process that I went through. Started with an on-campus behavioral interview with a person from HR. The interview was very relaxed and comfortable. The recruiter was very professional and was very easy to talk to. I was invited for final round interviews before the interview was even finished.
I went to NYC for final rounds a week or two later. This was 45 minutes of more behavioral/teamwork/leadership questions and 45 minutes of technical questions/describe a technical project questions. I then went home and had to complete a coding challenge by the end of the weekend. All of these things I expected as the HR person told me about then during the first round interview.
Everyone I met at BNY Mellon was great including all of the interviews. I had a great time interviewing for the company.
