      Interview

My overall experience with the assessment centre wasn’t great, largely because of how last‑minute the invitation was. I was notified 3 days before the assessment centre whilst others were told two weeks prior, which meant I had far less time to prepare especially for the role‑specific task that involved maths, data interpretation, and understanding the job responsibilities, this put me at a clear disadvantage from the start. Despite that, I performed strongly on the day. In the role‑specific group task, I was the only candidate who actually linked the discussion back to the responsibilities of the job, while others didn’t. In the second group exercise, I contributed the most, challenged ideas constructively, and offered the most reasoned points in the discussion. What made the experience more frustrating was the lack of communication afterwards. I wasn’t updated for almost a month, While others received an update weeks before I did, I had to email multiple recruiters to get an update, and when I finally received a decision, it was surprising to learn that candidates who had contributed very little, and in some cases hadn’t prepared at all were moved forward, there may have been inconsistencies or bias in how candidates were assessed. And on top of that it’s been two months and they still haven’t sent me my feedback from the assessment centre, whilst they’ve been consistently emailing and talking to candidates that moved forward, and also not to mention, when I received a rejection email a month after the assessment centre the way they worded it was honestly rude “the hiring team voted against you progressing to the next stage” like it was a bit rude and could’ve been worded better.
