I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BMOC (Madison, WI) in Jan 2024
Interview
I recently interviewed for the Accounting Manager role at BMOC, and overall, it was a great experience. The interview process was straightforward and focused on finding someone capable of leading the entire accounting department. With my background in Big 4 auditing and financial reporting for larger real estate management companies, the interview felt more like a discussion than a formal interrogation. I interviewed with the CEO, VP of Operations, and my predecessor who was still working at the time. It lasted about two hours, and I had a sushi lunch with the entire staff at the Madison home office - the company offers Friday lunch every week.
The team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I was impressed by the diversity within the company. BMOC has a female-dominated staff and a lot of young, energetic people. The workplace culture seems inclusive, with an emphasis on collaboration and personal development. If you're looking for a company that values its employees and offers room for growth, BMOC is definitely a place to consider.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at BMOC (Madison, WI) in Sept 2021
Interview
The interview was too good to be true! I received a phone call and after speaking with the CEO he was practically offering me the job after speaking with him. He started the convesation by talking about himself and his successes explaining that this would make me more comfortable. Then, went on to explain that this position would eventually lead to an executive position. He also said that he doesn't like his employees working from home during COVID and is looking for an individual to go to all of his locations across wisconsin on a monthly basis. He had arranged me to come in for an in-person interview however, after reading the reviews I was truely afraid to come in. I've experienced these types of personalities in the past and these types can ruin your career. He sounded too nice on the phone except for a few red flags. He said he liked to "teach" people and "enjoys challenges" in reference to me and at the end of the conversation mentioned how I may end up not liking him but I'd learn a great deal from his expertise in the industry. He also mentioned how I sounded unconfident during the interview and how he would like to "mold" me into a successful individual.
