First screening call with external recruiter at Spectraforce.
The recruiter, when he found out he could not meet my salary expectations, proceeded to insinuate that because I have a "gap" in my work history - I was on maternity leave - I will need to compromise on my salary. Sir, watch your mouth.
BMO is this the kind of prejudiced crap you want going on in interviews on your behalf?
And then in an attempt to refute how many years of experience I have as a secondary negotiation tactic, to drive my salary expectations down, he referenced the oldest role listed on my resume, which is not the beginning of my career. And any recruiter who knows what they're doing knows that someone with 10+ years of experience often does not list entry level roles from more than 10 years ago.
This was not only a problematic conversation but a poor start to any working relationship. I declined to move any further in the process.
