I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Attunely (Austin, TX) in Mar 2022
Interview
2 interview stages before we ended. The first stage was 30 min with the Lead DS, which was a pleasure. We discussed some modeling esoterica. The python coding test was a little weird. Admittedly, there were 2 questions and I stumbled upon one of them. The follow-up call included a test on index searching (?). Weird as a data science question. Kind of a "gotcha"... which is always fun. Like when someone asks you the parameters of the "Gumbel Distribution". You got me, buddy. It never comes up.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
(1) Hand code a decile frequency distribution from this data. Not that hard, but I blanked. I blame myself. I always use SQL's "NTILE()" , or histograms in R or MatPlotLib. Or better yet, "KDE".
(2) From 4x4 character matrix "A", Create a list of all words in dictionary "B". Each processing step must begin from a specific cell and branch in all 4 directions (up, down, left, right,.. like quarks) to build a string to test against the dictionary. Interesting.
