I interviewed at Atlassian (Austin, TX) in Nov 2024
Interview
1. Initial Recruiter Screening (30 minutes)
A recruiter will reach out to discuss your background, experience, and interest in the role.
They will ask salary expectations and why you’re interested in Atlassian
2. Hiring Manager Interview (45-60 minutes)
A more in-depth conversation about your sales methodology, deal execution, and experience managing customer relationships.
They ask for you to walk through a past deal, focusing on your strategy, challenges, and outcomes.
Questions could include how you handle objections, manage a pipeline, and collaborate cross-functionally.
3. Panel Interviews / Virtual Onsite (2-3 rounds)
1 Sales Role-Specific Interview with a peer: A deeper dive into your sales process, negotiation skills, and ability to drive customer adoption.
Mock Sales Presentation: prepare and present a pitch to sell Atlassian product to a hypothetical customer
4. Final Round (Executive Interview - Optional)
If applicable, a conversation with a senior leader (Director or VP) to assess cultural fit and strategic thinking.
They may ask about your long-term vision, how you align with Atlassian’s values, and how you would contribute to their go-to-market strategy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Atlassian? Walk me through a deal you have won. Tell me about a time you were not successful.
How is your pipeline strategy?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2024
Interview
Recruiting experience was by far one of my worst. I was referred by a leader and even then recruiters didn’t seem to care. Unresponsive across the board and disorganized. I also had one who was dishonest about the pay. I had to dig up a printout of the role as proof. 3-4 interviews. 1. Hiring manager. 2. Presentation. 3. HR People interview. Interview itself was average. Presentation a waste of time when you already have industry experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It can often take time to get quotes internally. Are you comfortable providing them yourself with a calculator?
I did not get past the first round as the emphasis on tech was great. There was little room for growing into the industry. Seems like a great place to work with great pay/benefits. Was not asked for second round interview. Seems like they only hire from the outside.
